Douglas Russo - Candidate for St. John’s County School Board District 3

Doug Russo is a racist, anti-science, homophobic, transphobic extremist unfit for any office of any kind.

At a school board meeting in September of 2021, Russo compared vaccination to the “yellow star” pinned on Jews in Nazi Germany. This is in addition to sexist, homophobic, and transphobic insults spewed at county officials. In this same meeting, Russo leveled the following threat: “There’s going to be a day when our Patrick Henry is going to stand up and he’s gonna say we’ve done all we can George, and it’s time to bear arms.”

In 2012, he referred to then-President Barack Obama as an ‘instrument of death’ in a Youtube video.

In a campaign video posted to Russo’s facebook page, he referred to his Democratic opponents as ‘vile’ and accused them of ‘indoctrination.’ He wants to have curriculum that encourages students to “love God.” He further accuses his opponents of teaching children to ‘hate America.’

In Facebook posts he has accused schools of “GROOMING” children to become “perverts” and refers to LGBTQI+ people as an ‘infestation.’ He has also refers to “sodomite liberals.” He hangs with militias, and he’s been booted from school board meetings for his outrageous behavior.
